Olivier Goury received a joint Engineering and Masters degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from ENSEEIHT (National polytechnic institute of Toulouse) Toulouse, France and Chalmers University of Technology, Göteborg, Sweden. He then received a masters degree in High Performance Computing from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and a Phd in Computational Mechanics from Cardiff University, Wales for which he was awarded the Zienkiewicz Best Phd Prize as well as being finalist of the ECCOMAS Phd Award. His work focused on model order reduction for mustiscale problems.
During his Phd, he was a visiting scholar for 9 months at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA. He was then employed as a Postdoctoral Researcher by Inserm (National Institute of Health and Medical Research) to work on cochlear implant surgery simulation. Since October 2016, he is a permanent researcher at Inria – Lille Nord Europe in the DEFROST team that is specialized in soft robotics.
