Jurgen Hessen

Jürgen Hesser is professor of Experimental Radiation Oncology at the Medical Faculty Mannheim of Heidelberg University. He is also member of the faculty of Physics and Astronomy, the Interdisciplinary Institute for Scientific Computing (IWR), and the Central Institute for Computer Engineering (ZITI) of Heidelberg University as well. Before, he was professor for medical technology at Mannheim University where he habilitated in computer science. He received his PhD and Diploma in Physics at the Heidelberg University.

Professor Hesser is leading a group of 20 scientists with a focus on applying inverse problems to research questions related to computational medical research such as tomography, parameter estimation, image analysis, and pattern recognition.
